After breakfast the next morning, we took off, with Anthony and Astrid heading back towards CA and ourselves back to the Front Range.
Hank the Tank
I was able to figure out why my Ham radio was't receiving (an incorrect setting) so Anthony and I were able to converse during the drive towards Moab. They turned off to check out Newspaper Rock, an amazing panel with art dating back over a thousand years.
We continued on, and started to find that all of our usual camp sites were taken. It was, after all, Memorial Day weekend. We finally, out of desperation stopped in an under construction KOA. They were super nice and we got a great spot, even dropping a fire ring behind the truck. We walked into town (about 1/4 mile away) to buy firewood, and discovered a cool-looking restaurant...we made reservations for later, bought firewood and walked back to clean up for dinner. After a nice dinner, we enjoyed our second campfire in 10 days!
We came across this business....I love the focus.
We had an uneventful drive back to the Front Range. I especially enjoy the drive from the Tunnel to the house, with my gauge showing 25+ mpg.
