Wednesday evening, Gus drove away, without us.
For good.
As you know, we’d put Gus on the market awhile ago. We’d had a number of people look at the camper, some of them very serious, some of them less so.A family came, looked at #80 and decided they wanted it. The process what somewhat more complex due to scheduling and logistics, but we worked everything out.
They finally drove away with Gus, their very long day not yet over, but they were very excited.
We thought we’d be sad when they left…and we were, but we were also kind of excited about the doors that just opened. Camping in the Earthroamer was awesome. Living for a year in the Earthroamer was a dream.
We have to figure out what’s next.
Most Christmases, we are in Death Valley, or the Mojave desert. Not this one.
It’s the end of one era for us, and the beginning of another.
So long, Gus! It was great knowing you.
Many folks struggle with the endings, even if what is ending has outlived its place in their lives. Being able to accept those kinds of changes, not as a loss but as growth, is a big skill. I know you guys will think back to your time in Gus very fondly. :)

Thanks, Val! It's an adjustment, for sure. We feel very fortunate for our several years with Gus..but know there are cool things ahead.
